Who we are
The Expat Club is operated by Experiment s.r.o., a Czech limited company based in Teplice. When we say "we", "us" or "the Club" — that's us.
What we collect
When you join the Club or use our site, we collect the basics:
- Your name and email address
- Your country of origin and the neighbourhood you live in
- Profile information you choose to share (bio, photo, interests)
- Event sign-ups and attendance
- Questions and answers you post in the community forum
- Basic technical info (browser, device, IP) for security and analytics
Why we collect it
- To run the community — introductions, member directory, events
- To send you event invitations and the occasional newsletter
- To improve the platform based on how it's actually used
- To keep things safe and spam-free
Where it lives
Your data is stored on secure servers within the European Union, managed through Supabase. It's encrypted in transit and at rest. Only the small team running the Club has access, and we only look when we need to.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as you're a member. If you leave the Club or ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days (some anonymised records may stay for accounting purposes — Czech law requires us to keep certain financial records for 10 years).
Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your account and personal data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to how we use your data
- Complain to the Czech Data Protection Authority (ÚOOÚ)

Cookies
We use a small set of essential cookies to keep you logged in, plus privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to anyone. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share information only with service providers who help us run the platform (hosting, email delivery, payment processing) — and only the minimum they need.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and, for meaningful changes, send you a heads-up by email.
